YOUR WAY
Custom extensions for fullness, length, density, color and a seamless blend that feels like you.
Your extensions should match your natural hair. Your extensions should blend seamlessly. Your extensions should feel comfortable.
Hair Extensions Tailored to You
Our top priority is supporting the health of your natural hair while helping you create the fullness, length, or shape you’re looking for.
Every extension plan is customized to your hair, lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and goals. Whether you want subtle volume, added density, or a full transformation, your consultation is where we’ll determine the best method, placement, color, and amount of hair for you.

Our Most Loved Methods
We offer several extension options, but these are the methods our guests choose most often.
Sew-In Wefts
Sew-in wefts are customized rows of extension hair secured close to the scalp to create natural-looking fullness, length, and density with a seamless blend.
They’re designed to be maintained over time with move-up appointments as your natural hair grows, and the extension hair can often be reused across multiple maintenance cycles with proper care.
Best for: Fullness, length, customizable density + long-term wear with regular maintenance
K-Tip Extensions
K-Tips are individual extensions applied with small keratin bonds for natural movement, flexible styling, and highly customized placement.
They’re designed to be worn for a full cycle rather than maintained with move-up appointments. When it’s time for removal, the bonds are taken out and a fresh set of extension hair is used for your next installation.
Best for: Flexible styling, natural movement, targeted density + a discreet finish
Additional Extension Methods
Depending on your hair, goals, and maintenance preferences, we may also recommend other methods. During your consultation, we’ll determine the best fit.
Tape-In Extensions
Lightweight extension panels that lie flat against the hair for a soft, comfortable blend. Tape-ins are available with select Dwell stylists and can be a great option for adding fullness and length.
Available with Tape In Specialist, Ashley
I-Tip Extensions
Individual extensions applied with small beads for flexible, adhesive-free placement and customizable fullness.
Because each strand is placed individually, I-Tips allow for natural movement and targeted density throughout the hair. They can be adjusted during maintenance appointments as your natural hair grows.
Top-of-Head Solutions
For guests experiencing thinning or lower density near the crown, traditional extensions may not always be the best fit.
We’re expanding our top-of-head solutions, including customized hair toppers and mesh integration, to create natural-looking fullness where you need it most.
It All Starts With a Plan
Extensions are never one-size-fits-all. During your consultation, we’ll look at your natural hair, density, texture, color, lifestyle, and goals to determine the method and placement that make the most sense for you.
We’ll also talk through maintenance, at-home care, timing, and investment so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward.
See What's Possible

Common Extension Questions
Which extension method is right for me?
Choosing the right type of hair extension depends on your hair type, density, lifestyle, and desired look.
Our expert Extension Specialists will provide a personalized consultation to assess your hair and recommend the best extension method for you, ensuring a seamless blend and natural appearance.
How much do hair extensions cost?
Most extension services at Dwell range from about $500 to $2,500+, depending on the method, amount of hair, length, color, and your goals.
As a general guide:
- Sew-In Wefts: $600–$2,000+
- K-Tips: $1,000–$2,500+
- Tape-Ins: $500–$900
- Top-of-Head Solutions: starting around $1,300+
How long do extensions last?
The lifespan of hair extensions varies depending on the type and how well they are maintained.
Generally, quality extensions like those we use here at Dwell Studio Salon can last anywhere from 6-12+ months before the hair needs to be replaced.
How often will I need maintenance?
Maintenance depends on the extension method and how quickly your natural hair grows.
Sew-In Wefts typically need a move-up every 6–10 weeks, while I-Tips and Tape-Ins are usually maintained every 6–8 weeks. K-Tips are different because they’re worn for a full cycle rather than moved up, then removed and replaced with a fresh set when it’s time.
Your stylist will recommend the best maintenance schedule for your hair and method during your consultation.
Are extensions safe for my natural hair?
When applied and maintained correctly, hair extensions are safe for your natural hair. There is no “one-size-fits-all” method. This is why our extension stylists tailor a solution that is uniquely for you.
At Dwell Studio Salon, our skilled Extension Stylists use techniques that minimize stress on your natural hair, ensuring it remains healthy and strong while wearing extensions.
Can I reuse extension hair?
In many cases, yes. Sew-in wefts, tape-ins, and I-Tips may be reused for multiple maintenance cycles if the hair is still in good condition and has been cared for properly.
Your stylist will assess the condition of your extension hair and let you know what can be safely reused.
Can you reinstall extensions from another salon?
Often, yes. If you already have extension hair from a previous installation, start with a consultation and bring the hair with you.
Can I color or style my extensions?
Yes. Hair extensions can be curled, waved, straightened, and styled much like your natural hair, but heat protection and the right products are important.
Coloring extensions should always be discussed with your stylist first. In many cases, we can tone, gloss, or deepen extension hair, but lightening previously colored extension hair is not always recommended. Your stylist will help determine what’s safest for the hair and best for your overall blend.
Can I swim or work out with extensions?
Yes, you can swim and exercise with hair extensions, but a few extra precautions help protect the hair and your installation.
Before swimming, wet your hair with clean water, apply a leave-in conditioner, and braid it loosely to help prevent tangling. Rinse thoroughly afterward. For workouts, secure your hair gently and avoid leaving the bonds or wefts damp for long periods.
